Current Entry Requirements for China

China Eases Visa Rules for Germans, French, and Other Nationals from Twelve Countries

China VisaFrom December 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, China will temporarily lift visa requirements for short stays of up to 15 days. Citizens from Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia will not need a visa for tourism, business, transit, or visits to friends and relatives. Visa applications will still be required for other nationalities and purposes.

Fingerprint Submission No Longer Required for Certain Categories

China VisumAccording to a new directive issued by the Chinese government on August 8, 2023, until the end of the year, fingerprint submission is no longer required for the following visa categories for single or double entry:

  • Business Visas (M)
  • Tourist and Visitor Visas (L)
  • Family Visas (Q2)
  • Crew Visas (C)
  • Transit Visas (G)

This means that applicants can now send their original documents without needing to appear in person. However, the fingerprint requirement remains in place for multiple-entry visas.
